How to Brew with the MyCoffeestar Metal Filter (Inverted Method)

What You’ll Need
- AeroPress®
- MyCoffeestar reusable metal filter
- 18 g freshly ground coffee (medium-fine)
- Hot water at 90°C (194°F)
- Scale and timer
Step-by-Step Guide (Inverted Method)
1. Add coffee
Pour your ground coffee into the inverted AeroPress chamber.
2. Add water & stir
Pour 94 ml of hot water and stir 35 times gently to ensure even extraction.
3. Attach the filter cap
At 1:20, screw on the cap with the MyCoffeestar metal filter and press out the remaining air.
4. Flip & press
At 1:30, carefully flip the AeroPress onto your cup and press slowly for 30 seconds — from 1:40 to 2:10 total brew time.
5. Extract the concentrate
You’ll have about 58–64 g of coffee concentrate.
6. Dilute (bypass)
Add 90°C water until you reach a total of 150 g beverage weight.
7. Enjoy & fine-tune
Aim for a TDS of 1.3–1.35 for the perfect balance of sweetness and clarity. Serve and enjoy your sustainable cup.
