The refillable coffee capsules made of stainless steel from mycoffeestar is compatible with all* Nespresso capsule machines manufactured after 2003 (except Essenza Mini or Plus).
Those are Nespresso machines with three puncture needles.
Nespresso machines of older proveniences (prior to 2003) have only one needle to puncture disposable aluminum capsules. The stainless steel capsule of mycoffeestar is NOT suitable for these machines.
To check how many needles your espresso machine has, simply insert a disposable aluminum capsule and close the lever or slide. Then, open the lever / slider and remove the used capsule from the holding tank. Check the number of punctures on the narrower side of the aluminium capsule:
- If you see only one central puncture the stainless steel capsule of mycoffeestar is NOT SUITABLE for your machine.
- But if you see three punctures the stainless steel capsule of mycoffeestar is SUITABLE for your machine.
The stainless steel capsule of mycoffeestar is not compatible with other capsule systems, such as Dolce Gusto, Lavazza, Tassimo, Delizio etc. and it is not compatible for Nespresso machines for pads.
Sealing rings
For most Nespresso machines (manufactured after 2010) one of the provided sealing rings must be applied to the capsule in order to seal the capsule holder. With each capsule two sealing rings are provided. Please keep the second seal ring as a substitute.
The sealing ring is best rolled onto the closed capsule until it rests on the rim of the lid.
You can leave the sealing ring on the lid after the brewing process and when cleaning the capsule. The sealing ring should be removed only if you want to clean the capsule in the dishwasher or with abrasives. Each seal ring holds so for at least 500 applications.
Additional sealing rings can be ordered on our online-shops.
Filling device & Tamper
Filling device and tamper are tailored for the mycoffeestar capsule. The body of the stainless steel capsule is screwed onto the fill filling, so that the handle of the filling device is inclined towards the capsule. This allows you to now dipping the capsule into the coffee container and filling it with ground coffee. After filling the capsule densely with ground coffee, unscrew the body of the capsule from the filling device, press the ground coffee with the tamper and close the lid of the capsule and place it in the machine.
With the handle of the filling device you can easily remove the coffee powder after the brewing from the capsule, wash the remains simple with clear water.
